Things I Forgot to Mention

One thing I forgot to mention yesterday was our visit to The Biltmore House in Ashville, North Carolina. While we were at Pigeon Forge we drove over to Cherokee NC to take a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. As it turned out we drove all the way to Ashville and decided that it would be a long time before we got that close to the Biltmore House again so we visited that grand mansion. I will try to post some pictures but you can visit the link that I am posting here.
While we were at Pigeon Forge we stayed at Eagles Nest Camp Ground and while we were there it came a hard rain in the mountains. The camp ground is by a creek and the creek flooded. I have some great pictures.

Our most recent travels.

We haven't posted any thing in several months so I suppose we should catch every one up on our travels. We stayed at our lot in Lascassas, TN in the spring of 2009 and help out with VBS at our church, Bradley Creek Baptist Church. Our pastor Owen Ivery ask if we would help and I felt like that was something We could do. We left after VBS in July and spent one week at Deer Run RV Park in Crossville, TN with our pastor and his wife. They leave their RV there year round. After Deer Run we spent a couple of weeks at Pigeon Forge TN then traveled north through KY to visit Helen's family for a week. We got back home and stayed through Bradley Creek's Revival. I also needed to get the RV repaired from an accident that I didn't mention earlier. Bro. Donald Owen preached the revival messages and the Lord really blessed with his presence.
After the revival we headed south toward Florida. We had decided to spend the winter there and see if we liked it. My cousin, Lytle Givens, spends the winter in Florida and we would spend the month of November in the same camp ground. Lytle and his wife Sandra have been full-timing for about fourteen years.Just a few days before their departure he found out that his cancer was back so they did not get to travel this winter.
We spent about two weeks in one of our Thousand Trails Resort Parks in Clermont, Florida then went on to Bradenton, Florida to Arbor Terrace the camp ground where we were going to stay with Lytle and Sandra. We stayed there all of November. We then spent three weeks at Peace River Resort, a Thousand Trails resort. We met some new friends while we were there, Pete and Janice Cooper from Oaklahoma. While we were there we went to Highland Hammoch State Park, a wonderful state park with lots of trails to walk on and things to see. We went back to Clermont to the Orlando Thousand Trails Park and spent three weeks there. While we were there we went over to Blue Springs State Park to see the Mannettee that come up in there in the winter. That was the first time Helen or I had seen a Manettee. They are huge. The day before we left Clermont we met up with some old friends we met in Texas last year, Bob and Janice Collier. It was good to see them again.
We went back to Peace River just out of Wauchula, Florida on the 12th on January 2010 and revisited some of the places we went to back in December. We went back to the Highland Hammoch State park and enjoyed their all you can eat fish dinner one Friday night. Went over to Sebring, Florida to get a prescription filled and drove on into the downtown part, it was really a quaint old part of town. We will leave here Monday morning and go back to Orlando Thousand Trails in Clermont.
Check out the link to Florida State Parks and scroll down through them. See the real Florida!!!!!
